A fresh start

Two paintings this week, one with strong colours to celebrate the end of Carnival  yesterday (Rosenmontag ("Rose Monday")), and the other with soft tones, to remind that spring will be here soon.

Warm colours

February! It is snowing not so far away in the mountains - fortunately, not here at the coast. But for us, the temperatures are low enough at the moment (without central heating and properly insulated houses). So, I opted for a lot of warm colours! Enjoy and stay warm!

Wind in the park

I am so glad it is Friday (as usual): we have been working too much those last weeks, so we are looking forward to enjoying a real weekend (i.e. without having to open the PC for work).
As it is windy and cold at the moment, we will visit a garden centre tomorrow to buy some green plants and material to sow chillies, like we did last year (but more of them and different varieties). Also, our dog needs a new basket (hope we will one there as well). :-)

The power of nature

At the Costa del Sol, nature is everywhere and most of it is green all year long. And there will always be a tree or a hedge blooming, somewhere. I cannot imagine myself creating any longer without this lush vegetation around me (and blue skies, and the sea).

Back to work

It is always a bit odd in January to open a new calendar and Excel file for book keeping, but little by little, working as usual feels normal again. The highlights of this year will probably be May and September, but I am sure every day will bring some vitality and creative energy.

Happy New Year! Rio Seco

Happy New Year everybody! May 2018 be a creative, healthy, prosperous and peaceful year for us all!

We are just back from a mini-holiday at the very south of the province of Alicante (Valencian community, Spain). There, we had the opportunity to rest, far away from the usual December hustle and bustle.
Our stay was much too short to explore all wanted to, as we also had to visit some places we have been cherishing for years, like the river Río Seco with its impressing reed near El Pinar de Campoverde), but this trip gave us plenty of energy to start to work again!

This post will probably be the last of this year. I would enjoy to be let alone with my pencils and brushes, but there is still a lot to translate, prepare, buy and clean...

I wish you Happy Holidays and a happy New Year to you all! I wish (at least some of ) your dreams come true in 2018! Thank you for reading me in 2017!
